The product came packaged in a high-quality box.
All the components were present and correct.
The assembly guide and user manual was very straightforward.
The fixings (screws, nuts and bolts etc) were film wrapped on a piece of card. Each fitting was clearly visible through the shrink-wrapped cellophane. The code number for each fitting was printed on the reverse of the card. Brilliant idea, you can clearly identify each component fitting.
Assembly was very straightforward, as I followed the sequential order of assembly. However, towards the end, I couldn’t get the side tray to fixing points to align to the frame. I was about 3mm off, so the only option available to me was to drill the sheet metal on the side tray, to make the fixing hole a little bigger so I could push the fixing bolt through to the frame.
My other option would have been to partially dis-assemble the BBQ, and be more precise in fixing in the first place. My fault for not being meticulous and precise in the first place.
Once fully assembled, the BBQ looks great, strong sturdy and of a very high quality black painted finish.
The quality of the cast iron grills is excellent.
Cooking on the BBQ was so easy.
I had a gas BBQ many years ago and have been cooking on coals for over 10 years but had forgotten how easy it is to cook on gas.
You have to be very careful not to burn your food on coals, but with this gas BBQ you can instantly turn the heat down, which you cant do with coals.
The food came out tender and juicy, with a distinctive “char-grilled” taste, almost the same as for coal.
So then I tried coal in this BBQ, and it was brilliant. Just load your coal, light the coal with the gas setting. So easy, no faffing around with firelighters or fluid.
The coal grilled food was 100%.
I would highly recommend this BBQ to anyone who’s looking to purchase a new BBQ you will honestly not regret buying this! Amazing!

Takes a couple of hours to build as people have mentioned, build quality is far superior than my previous gas BBQ but that should be expected as it was double the price.
The hybrid thing seems to work quite well, I’ve done 3 coal cooks on it all have gone well, there is no air flow control like a weber when using coal so temp control is limited to opening and shutting the lid.
Cooking on gas also seems to work fine, very good temp control, cleaning is a bit of a problem as the bottom of the BBQ bit is not removable, my old BBQ the whole under side beneath the burners slid out and could be scraped clean quite easily, the Coal 2 gas requires you to remove all the grill, heat shields etc to get and clean it. (Unfortunately, it does say in the small print that this BBQ is not designed to be cleaned by turning it on full and burning excessive off, I hadn’t seen this bit, this technique worked fine on my old barby for years.)
The grill rack itself is very sturdy cast iron, but things do seem to stick to it quite easily.
Overall would I buy again, the jury’s still out…

The coal sits so close to the grill that it just burns the food instantly, even with a thin layer of coal
